By 2014, it grew up to 85 employees, and moved in East Village, San Diego. Office Space

Located in the heart of East Village, San Diego, Underground Elephant occupies the old TR Produce building. Jason Kulpa selected the building for Underground Elephant's new office location after passing the old warehouse each morning. "Jason Kulpa worked with Steve Martini of Quality First Commercial to close the deal on the 19,000 square-foot, ground floor location. The process lasted nearly two years, amidst significant uncertainty, and the deal equates to a $5-million-plus investment." In addition to choosing to stay in San Diego, Underground Elephant chose to deepen their roots in the community by choosing a local design team, BASILE Studio. Their office space was design to attract millennial talent with open floor plans, features like a bar and full kitchen, hidden rooms, and even tricycles. In 2016, the office design won a San Diego Architectural Foundation Onion award. Paul Basile, the lead designer of the project said, "Underground Elephant's design presented a unique opportunity to reimagine one of East Village's remaining historical warehouses into a modern, innovative, and collaborative space that speaks to the core of San Diego's community and cultural identity." Now, their office space is utilized for community events such as San Diego Startup Week, and can even be rented out for parties and weddings.

Events and activities

Apart from their core business, Underground Elephant also engage in voluntary work. Most of the community projects the tech company participates in, aim at benefiting certain social groups in need and are in the form of donations. One such initiative took place in 2013 when Underground Elephant partnered with San Diego Habitat for Humanity (SDHFH) to build four town homes for disabled military veterans and their families.

In an effort to further grow their business by enhancing the digital marketing platform and diversifying the channels they use, Underground Elephant were granted $9 million in credit facilities from Silicon Valley Bank in 2016. The partnership was also targeted at helping San Diego's tech sector to flourish.

In September 2016, Underground Elephant filed a complaint against Insurance Zebra Inc., for allegedly supplying invalid leads and obtaining trade secrets by improper means.
